Depersonalization is the moment when a person realizes they have become detached from their own self, feeling as if they are observing their own thoughts, feelings, and actions from afar. Aware of this moment, we struggle with a fundamental uncertainty about who controls our lives. Do we choose our paths of our own free will and make conscious choices? Or are we merely spectators, subject to the whims of an invisible force?
