Born in Istanbul in 2001, Geçalp graduated from the Department of Painting at Dokuz Eylül University's Faculty of Fine Arts in 2024. His work is generally shaped by nature, daily life, and memories. His works primarily consist of paintings. He utilizes artistic practices to understand nature and strengthen his personal connection with it. He keeps visual records of his daily life, his experiences, observations, and memories—in other words, his personal history. In his works, he focuses on the raw emotions evoked in him by seemingly ordinary things he encounters in his daily life. The images he retains on his personal memory bear traces of both himself and the city and culture he lives in.
"On a day when I was feeling very confused, I was sitting in a playground near my house. Lost in my thoughts, the gentle sounds of the plants around me, accompanied by the wind, calmed me. The negative thoughts in my mind instantly vanished. Thanks to the plants around me, I was able to make an important decision for myself that day. It became a precious and special day for me."
